Granada Baptist Church, a growing, multiethnic church in the San Fernando Valley, is seeking a part time Family Life Minister to accommodate our growing demographic of young families, children and youth. Working under the direct supervision of the Senior Pastor, this position will enhance already existing programs as well as create new ones in response to, and in preparation for continued growth.  The Family Life Minister will be expected to develop the laity into ministers as well.

 

Duties

– Supervise ministry to youth grades 6-12, specifically midweek programs

– Provide one-on-one as well group learning opportunities with youth

– Regular home visitations to youths and families

– Participate in regional and national American Baptist events and programs

 

Other ministerial duties

– Identifying and developing potential leaders in the congregation through identification of spiritual gifts,

   personal mentoring and ongoing training

– Regular teaching opportunities in Sunday school, small groups, and Bible study electives

– Assisting in the pulpit

– Regular preaching opportunities

 

Qualifications

Master’s degree in some related area of work or ministry or in pursuit of one desired.  Prior experience would greatly enhance candidate’s chance.  Ordained or on the path to ordination preferred, but not required.

 

Position would allow for work in areas of ministry most in accordance with their gifts and experience.  Minister would be in an environment of Christ-centeredness where gifts, vision and new ideas are encouraged and utilized to the fullest.

 

Competitive salary/housing allowance, vacation days, sick days, personal days, and continuing education opportunities would be factored into a comprehensive compensation package based on part-time/full-time status and work experience.
